Hi guys!
What you think about fully synthetic 10W/40 motor oil at in Drifter engine.
I heard that fully synthetic removes lifter ticking noises but also Drifter
clutch maybe slipper this oil, is that true?
Here Finland Kawasaki Drifter importer recommends this oil:
Shell Advanced Ultra Fully synthetic oil.
Does anyone have experience with this oil?
I'm sticking with Dino oil.
I have been using full synthetic exclusively on all my bikes and autos for over 20 years. Synthetic is more chemically stable, won't break down as easily as dino, and is less likely to acidify/oxidate. Make sure you use synthetic that has NO additional friction modifiers in it... because of our wet clutch. I do think it helps the engine run quieter, but honestly I have never had dino in this Drifter.
Never used that particular brand.
That oil will be fine; it's JASO MA2 rated. your clutch will not slip (any more than it does with non synthetic oil). I doubt it'll reduce any engine noise, I've been using Synthetic oil in my Drifter since the first oil change - it's still a very, very noisy engine.
