Title: bolt thread size
Post by: vandor on July 09, 2019, 11:52:51 AM
Does anyone know the thread size for the bolts that hold the handlebar risers on the tree? Im havinfits trying to find a kit. I called Barons, Phat Performance Parts, and Dennis Kirk and they all tell me that there is no such animal for fastening risers on a 2005 kawasaki vulcan drifter 1500. Where can I get some pullback risers for my ride? Anyone???

I'd search for risers for a "Classic" - I think the top plate is the same as the Drifter  - you could confirm that by comparing Classic and Drifter parts fiches.

Would this fit:  https://www.denniskirk.com/baron-custom-accessories/riser-mounting-kit-for-kawasaki-vulcan-suzuki-ba-7411-01.p596244.prd/596244.sku. It say it fits a classic. I want to put these risers on: https://www.amazon.com/Krator-Motorcycle-Handlebar-Kawasaki-Classic/dp/B016YYV5J0.

yes, those adapters will fit.  they are necessary to put many of the aftermarket risers on the 1500/800 models, as they have bolts that run through the stock risers and down through the top of the triple tree.  I used the exact same ones on my 800.

More proof some of these parts guys are only good at typing. It is almost routine to attach risers intended for HD onto metric bikes. Many companies make the adapter studs. One end has the 1/2-13 threads of the HD riser, the other end has the 10mm thread of the metric triple tree. One of the first mods I did on mine.

Metric Specs: 10mm x 30mm stud w/10mm D x 11mm shoulder
Honda and some Suzuki models have a 12mm, so you want to be sure you get the one for Kawasaki.

It's always worth checking the parts lists because the bolt sizes are sometimes given.
