Title: Just joined from Roswell, GA
Post by: coop802 on November 21, 2018, 19:22:28 PM
Hey guys!
I have an 01 Drifter 800 13k miles. I traded a guy my 98 CB1000 for it. I love the look of these Drifters! I get tons of looks when riding to work.
So far:
Rebuilt carb; rebuilt front and rear brakes; replaced chain; removed Re circulation stuff; replaced petcock and fuel lines, replaced front sprocket with 18T; replaced rear turn signals, added cobra exhaust.

I'm now looking for a lighting kit. First is pic from Craigslist, then two when I got it home and removed the exhaust.

You'll fall in love with your new bike, I'm sure, as I did with mine!
And this Forum is a great source of informations (and silly stuff...  ;D ).

Welcome to the group, Coop!   Nice looking Drifter.   I'll wager it's on the loud side with the muffler off??

Thanks!

It was stupid loud  ::)! I found a set of cobras on Ebay and got them for $90. They were painted black! BUT with a little elbow grease, the black paint came right off ( WIN)! They did not have the baffles either but a call to cobra and $19.95 for each and it sounds nice.

I really want the passing lights.. I purchased a set for a 1500 Classic but the mounts don't match up. Has anyone mounted them to the existing turn signal bar like i saw in the mods section? or is there a set I can purchase that would mount directly and look as nice. ( I don't like the EU version I have seen that have the black bar)

Next repairs will be grease seals and wheel bearings on front and back. My riding days are getting slimmer although many of you have already put your up I'm sure.
