Title: 15000 mile service
Post by: aclone on November 06, 2009, 17:54:30 PM
I have decided to do my own service, its so much cheaper! Do I need to change the fork oil? The rest does not sound to bad and will  gladly take any tip on any part of the the 15000 mile service. I have the rick doss headlight and have to remove it to take the forks apart. FYI the oil is done thanks to that rock.

"HAVE" to is probably not the word here. You can let it go for a while, but you should try to follow the pm schedule... its preventive <LOL>... your bike won't fall apart if you don't but you may run into problems at some point.

Cheers.

4-5K more miles likely wouldn't be a problem, IMHO.

Cheers.

I just turned 73,000 miles on my 1500 and have only done tires, 2 sets of plugs, oil and filters.  No problems at all with forks leaking or not responding like showroom.  Easiest bike I've ever owned.
