My 1500 drifter has a USB Power commander unit installed on it. Here is the problem, When I upload the factory specs that deal with my bike (Items that are installed, Hypercharger, Hardc\Khrome two walled headers) it runs real rich. I've lowered the setting to almost 0 across the board, still runs rich. Anyone got any help for me. It runs great at 72mph.
ANY help please
I think annieoakley is having a similar problem. You might want to hit her up for help.
I feel your pain! I have my bike in the shop right now and am anxiously awaiting the final verdict! As soon as I find out what is really causing the problem I will get back to you. I am going to stop by my dealer today to see if my bike is being worked on yet, he has had it a week now. :'( bad thing about the whole situation, is we are having a streak of 60 degree weather that I haven't been able to enjoy >:( I'll get back real soon!
I heard from a mechanic that has been in business since motorcycles were first made lol literally forever....... but any way he was saying if a hypercharger is not adjusted just right then the bike wont run right. The suggestion he gave to me about them is if i had one he said throw it across the yard and put the stock back on. All i can add hope it helped
No news yet :-\ no news is good news?????? Hey edwar355 I like the color of your bike! Those two colors together look good on a drifter!
Update!!!! Mechanic just called, he worked on my tach, which evidently wasn't hooked up correctly, now it actually reads like it is supposed to ( it helped the issue a teenie bit), but his final verdict on the fuel problem is the fuel controler itself. It is an older model cobra Fi2000. He said he's been playing with it all day. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. His opinion was to get a new one or I could just continue to be frustrated, my choice......I think I just wanna ride!!!!!!!! (and not be frustrated! put the new one on!)
With those you can remove it and NOT put anything on and the bike will run... though not well.
that might explain a few things. My bike doesn't have the fuel controller on it. I was thinking about putting one on, but the bike runs good at 72mph. it only runs like crap at speeds below 40. So I just ride and blow black smoke.
Yeah, that's the exact thing my mechanic was telling me. Without it you can run at one speed and be okay, but drop 1 rpm and it won't run good at all. There is no good inbetween on this one from what I was told. It was go without and have a crappy day or spend $200 and ride like the wind! I can't wait to get him back on the road! zoom zoom!
