Eliminating ugly reflectors, still need to rework the brackets. Found old school jewel reflectors.
Nice.
Now, not to hijack this post, but that exhaust is a cannon or what? ;)
I wonder how much noise it makes...
Noise is not bad, but I do not really like the look. It came on the bike when I got it. Future project.
I did the same thing and I got them from Jerry Greer's Indian parts. They are real glass.
You know what? Here in Italy legislation does not require the use of lateral reflectors for motorcycles and that's why my bike hasn't got none...
But I'm starting to think about adding them, because those old school styled are way cool.
I was going to eliminate them but figured a small chance of them saving my butt might be worth it.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, you non-Aussies get lateral reflectors !!! How the hell have I survived for 48 years on the road. :o
Only taking the piss - I think the round ones you've chosen are cool - they do add to that Old style look. You may have converted me :)
Yeah, I know that the reflector most likely has no increased safety for me and I thought about eliminating them. But then I thought that the 1% chance that it might save my butt would be worth it. Plus I think the jewels kind of give it an old school look. Who knows?
Here is what mine changed from to...lol.....But still wonder if not for the issue of wires all over the place and if you could hide the wiring properly and then use Hi Viz LED lights I might think it over during the winter. I am adding a pair of Hi Viz white lights to the front of the bike, and have a pair ready to mount to the rear of the bike and wire them into the brake light......
Here are some pictures of mine and Jerry Greer has them in several colors.
Looks pretty close to mine, i like the jewel shape and the blue>
Do you happen to have a link to find them?
Not sure how to do a link, I bought them on Ebay from seller Id, bythebay77nm.
ok thought it was a store or something, I'll check it out then thanks....
Definitely better than the rectangles we have now.
I don't really know how to post a link but the website is www.jerrygreersengineering.com.
Not to hijack this tread, but sometime ago I tried to get in touch with JerryGreer, because I'd like to buy something for ma-deuce.
He never answered: I wanted to know the amount of shipping costs, and I emailed him 4 times, but no answer at all!
Too bad...
