Title: Installed hand shift lever
Post by: geewago on June 03, 2017, 15:30:52 PM
I just recently downgraded my Drifter by installing a hand shifter to make it look older.  Which is strange because on most stuff I try to make it look newer.  I'm not sure I'll ever really use it but I was just going for the looks anyway.  It wasn't quiet as simple as the instruction says but it didn't that long for a shade tree mechanic.  I've just about got this bike like I want it. Indianized all the way!! I keep staring at the left (clutch) side of the motor.  There's just too much nothing there.  I would love to find one of those tear drop shaped air cleaner covers with an Indian on it that was used on some of the late model Gilroy bikes.  I'm not talking about the old heavy duty cast iron one that they used on the right side when they had the S&S motors.  Either that or I may try mounting a chrome air horn.  Any suggestions?

Someone on the UK site mounted a Harley horn in that location. Really not sure what else one would want to mount there....

Sorry folks I'm living so far back in time I don't even have a smart phone.  Wouldn't know how to put pics on here if I did.

Yep I got it from ol Ted.   I'm also wanting to put a seat rail on.  Can't find anyone offering them so I guess I'll just have to adapt one myself.

Some members here have adapted 1500 seat rails to fit. Good luck finding a seat rail as they are very hard to find.

And that's the reason why I ended by buyin' an old H-D seat rail...
