Title: No Ride Today
Post by: CDNRatMan on May 07, 2017, 13:28:09 PM
Well awoke this morning thinking if it stopped raining I might get out for a ride. As I lay abed and getting ready to get up I listened and did not hear the patter of rain falling, a sound I have heard all week, So I rouse myself from my toasty warm bed, and look out the window, OH good lord what greets my eyes........it was enough to drive me right back into my toasty warm bed and cry for a while, there was a covering of white rain on the ground, and on my truck......seems during the night it fell from the heavens, 5 cms of the white solid rain.......oh my, so now it is 1430 and it is almost all gone from the open areas, but still windy and not nice outside........I need to direct this south away from here.......

I have seen snow on the May 24 weekend many a times.......but that is because we live north, and so this week should be the last of the snow stuff for at least 3 weeks.......

Maybe you should buy a Kawasaki Drifter -  ock ock    Or come on down to Florida.

I need to think of a polite way to call someone an anal retentive person, Mr. Jerry sir, been there and had one of them, the Kawasaki Drifter snowmachine was a decent machine it was very fast for the time. They were a really good machine again for their time.......as for moving to Florida, I will keep my comments to myself......and just sit here and smile.........

Truth be told I'm not the biggest Fan of Florida myself. The Drifter Snowmobile pics look like a design ahead of its time.

And you know me well  LOL

Uncle Ronny when you make the 5 hour ride up north here I have you covered for the cold weather, but you might want to ask Moose GreenBarn about the animals on the road......or actually it was Mrs GreenBarn that wanted to see a Moose up close and personal....lol.......

Jerry if you are happy living where you then why change, I have lived in 3 countries in my short life and I still like Canada the best........

I have been to Canada. It was 1969.  What I remember that was unique is driving in the countryside finding a lean-to that was full of maple syrup. Put in your two bucks and take a bottle.  Yes no doubt it is beautiful countryside it would probably fit me very well. However I will say this, these people we call snowbirds, I have to admit they're pretty smart, they come down here they buy an inexpensive Doublewide in a community it's all taken care of and they escape the snow in the cold for about 3 to 4 months. Then they go back to "heaven". If you'll excuse me now, I have a drifter to take apart, pieces parts will be going to The Painter pretty soon.

Ratman, seriously, I've thought about it, and you should try to find you a Drifter snow machine.  A classic in it's own right, a classic beauty snow machine, and then you could certainly ride a Drifter all year long....  ;)
