I got a set of aux lights from e bay last week and low and behold no install instructions. The kit came with turn signals but i think i am going to just mount lights to turn signal bar allready from stock. I know i read a really good post on here not that long ago about hooking this stuff up but can not find it again. Should i use a reley for running lights?
Yes, you "should" use a relay. However both of mine came with running lights hooked up- and they were wired directly into the low beam circuit. They had not had any issues yet, with melted wires and blown fuses, etc., but I re-wired both bikes with a relay circuit. There is a hot wire in the headlight bucket you can use to power the light, or run a dedicated wire from your battery. Then use the low beam light to trigger the relay on , with a switch of course in the circuit to turn them off if you wan to. there is plenty of room in the headlight bucket for the relay.
yea i see what you mean by lots of room in the head light bucket, that thing is massive. I will take you good advice and run a relay to be safe. Thanks.
There is enough room in that headlight bucket for a dinner for four and a snack pack as well......lol, I have 3 relays in mine and the power pack for my LED headlight and not an issue.....
