Title: Grandfather's 66th coming up, help
Post by: DmanDan on March 20, 2017, 04:12:26 AM
Hello Vulcan Drift riders forum,

What a great forum you guys have going!! After a search through looking at some of you awesome rides, I am simply mesmerized. As you guys can see from the title it is my Grandfather's birthday coming up and it's the big 66. He has been a rider from many-many years a lot longer than I can remember anyway. At the moment he owns a 2005 Kawasaki VN Vulcan 1500 Drifter (don't really know any other specs) and I think the words "he loves it" is an understatement if he's not riding it, he's working on it.

Anyway, I have tried my usual sites to find information or ideas like http://www.for-sale.co.uk/ Bu, In all honesty, I'm not much of a rider yet but maybe in my later years to come and that's why I'm here. I am wanting to get my grandfather a gift that he will treasure but I have no clue where to start especially when he has just about everything he could want... I'm hoping you guys have some ideas!! If it was you, What would you love from you grandson on your birthday? I mean anything, guys?? all ideas and advice will be greatly appreciated!

Really looking forward to speaking with you all and seeing what ideas you come up with.

Thanks a bunch guys

Example image below I don't have an actual image of his bike.

What about original sales brochures for the drifter?     EBay?

Or hats or Pins or shirts offered here in the store?

Is Gramps computer literate? if so see if he is a member here, and this link http://vdogforum.co.uk/ if he is not then hook him up with that.
Your Gramps is slightly older than myself and he has a grandson, I only have nieces and nephews, I always ask for fuel cards and such so I can go riding.......

I also have a good idea and if you pm me at alrat55@hotmail.com I might be able to help you out......just put your user name from here in the subject line so I don't delete it........

The first thing that comes in mind to me, is a nice set of light visors: one for the head light and 2 for the spotlights.
Or maybe, a nice indian headdress fender light...
Dunno if it could be your grandpa's cup of tea, but I think that it would compliment a nice bike like that one.
Just my 2 cents...

Welcome, DmanDan....  and yes, this is the best forum on the internet....  we think so....    First off, let me compliment you - I really appreciate the fact that you are wanting to do something nice for your gramps - I think that is really nice, and I admire you for it.  It would help, maybe, come up with some ideas for Gramps, if you maybe had a pic of his actual bike -so we could see maybe what his style is, and what he already has on there.

This forum has items for sale if you go to the "store" button at the top of this page.   Also, from the home VDR page, you can go the the "Amazon Shop" button -- should be some nice T-shirts there at least.  http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/

There are a number of items that come up on Ebay from time to time  Some of them follow:
