So....as some of you know, I recently put a Harley Police style springer seat with buddy rail on my 800. I sent my factory solo seat out to have a gel pad insert and new memory foam added to it. Since I have it back and have made a couple of rides with it, I have decided to keep it on the bike and sell off the springer seat with complete mounting plate, extra springs and the three bolts I use to mount it. I am putting it in the classifieds, but here are some pics of it on my bike. One thing I did to make it easier to take on and off is I put 2 nutserts in the holes in the cross-member under the seat. I did have to drill them out a little, but now I don't have to try and hold a wrench under the cross-member when tightening or loosening the plate mount. Now it takes 5 minutes or less to remove the 2 plate bolts and the tank bolt. I also used a spacer and a longer tank bolt to angle the seat up in the front a little bit. I got a lot of compliments on the look when I had it out, but I am going to keep the factory seat on with the rack mount so I can take off on longer trips whenever I want...The springer seat is great for shorter around town rides, but after a couple of hundred miles, I get saddle-sore from it....
