Title: Aftermarket solo seat
Post by: OR Seedman on February 23, 2017, 16:08:35 PM
Hey all you 1500 experts....

Are there any aftermarket solo seats that use the actual factory seat mount?  I have been corresponding with a new 1500 drifter owner that want a complete set of saddlebag mounts and the rack/mount set up from me, but he currently has the 2-up seat.  I do not know if any other solo seats besides the OEM seat will work on the seat mount.  Please give me any input you can on this...I don't want to sell him something that he can't use without the proper solo seat setup.  Also, I have encouraged him to join the forum....

Thanks in advance...

Corbin still makes solo drifter seats.

yeah...I know about the Corbin seats...but there website states that you cannot use saddlebag mounts (the factory mounting points) with there seats....so I am trying to help this guy out with a solo seat that actually uses the factory seat mount that has the saddlebag mounting points...so far, I am coming up empty...

thank you for your help.

Corbin used to sell saddlebag mounts for use with their seats. There may still be some out there someplace.

thanks, chief.  I think the guy has decided to stick with the 2-up for now...he still needs saddlebag mounts, but I am out of stock until March 3.  I think he is going to buy the oem type that are still available on ebay from another source...although they cost more than mine...
