Title: Phil Gray
Post by: Troll on January 12, 2017, 20:47:39 PM
This is from Ron Ottow: Hello all. I spoke with Phil Gray this evening. He is in very bad shape.
He has to go in for another heart operation,He cannot walk any distance, He cannot ride long disrances.
He cannot go to Canada,His doctor advised not to leave the country.
His doctor has put him on the list called "END OF LIFE".
I have tears as I am writing this. He is my friend and I love my friends.
His wife has told Him to do what He wants as long as He call, regardless of what the doctor says.

One side of His heart is not pumping blood as it should.
It is getting to the point the doctors cannot do anything more short of a transplant.
Phil goes in next week for more tests and will let me know.

He is still trying to ride, but appears will not be in Pennsylvania and for sure not in Canada. 😢
I am quite sad tonight.
Ron
Phil needs all the prayers he can get.....

Last thing I heard about Phil was that he might/will have another double bypass operation.

From FaceBook:

Phil Gray: Ok I guess people have been waiting for an update. So I have been undergoing all test necessary yesterday and today for my cardiac team and Surgeons to make some decisions regarding my case. The final word is the VA as you may not have known transferred me to one of the top 10 heart hospitals in the country. After completing all tests they would like to do quadruple bypass surgery on me. However the most qualified surgeon cannot do it until early February. So if there is no other surgeon qualified in my case they will do temporary modified angioplasty on portions of the heart until they can do the surgery. It has been explained this is all high risk.

I know several people who have had this surgery. 99% have recovered faster than they thought they would and felt better than they had in years previous. Prayers to Phil.

One of my brothers had this same surgery. It was amazing how quickly he sprung back afterward, and was feeling great. . . and this was a guy that was a heavy smoker and drinker.

Thoughts, prayers, and best wishes to Phil.

 Another update from Dancing Bear.......

"Phil is still in the ICU, in and out from the drugs (mostly out, really). He may be transferred to a regular ward tonight. So far, so good. Thank you all for thinking of him!"
