Title: New paint and All done
Post by: Trall on November 09, 2016, 19:58:32 PM
Finally got all the bugs worked out and got all all the accessories back on the bike after painter repainted maroon color on tank and front fender and new clear coated both fenders and tank.

Now the bike is like new again. Had lots of parts done by the powder coater to compliment the factory colors.  That and the super cool Gilroy Indian air cover.  Installed my hand shifter with shifter knob, I wired two led lights for a cool night glow.

Here she is.   Here's some pics of solo and double set up.

It's a original Travel Horse,  I believe is the name.  It was a company that made Drifter seats back when they were in production and at some point went out of business.

The leather work is phenomenal. I wish I could find their matching brown solo seat.  If I ever do will switch over my mud flaps to brown.

If anyone has the solo Travel horse in brown and want to trade for my factory mint black solo seat plus some cash let me know.

It's a funny story. I just sold my 800 in July and decided to look for a 1500. I found the seat on eBay for buy it now for $450 with $15 shipping.  I fell in instant drifter love for it and pony up the big bucks the seller wanted. I then found out he was selling the 1500 the following week and bought that in Indiana.  So I found a seat first and then my new Drifter 1500 for it.

Lol.  Hey DC I saw yours and they set your bike off the scale, so I had to get mine done.

Glad you liked them and they were inspiring.  That's the great thing about the forum.  We all have lots of ideas to share.

Beautiful bike!

That pic with the bags and custom seat; your bike looks much better than the new Indian Chiefs!

Came across this picture of my uncle on his old Indian.  The shifter was on the left side.

I think the hand shifter was on the left because the throttle was on the left and they had a foot clutch.

Thanks fellow Drifters  for the comments.

Cool pic of your Uncle and Indian.
What a cool bike and times to have one.  I kinda wished I grew up in that era.
