If you can't find a F&S Light Bar for the 99 VN1500J, what is a good alternative? If I can get one where I don't have to replace or move my side-mounted OEM turn signals, that would be ideal.
Light bars replace the existing bar which holds the turn signals... so regardless you will need to move them.
Have a look at the mods for light bars.

Yeah, I didn't word that very well. I meant I wanted to use the existing turn signals, in the original configuration (horizontal). I knew I'd have to remove the OEM bracket to make room for the replacement light bar.
Thanks, I will definitely take a look,
I did the No-Bar light bar solution and it worked out great! http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/lightbar.html

I like it. Thanks for sharing.
Best be would be haunt e bay every night because they come on once in a while and are the right ones for the bike, 800 1500 Vulcan Classic they are the same so you might find one on craigslist or e bay if you troll around enough, good luck.
Today I saw a guy riding a Drifter in mytown and followed him into a store parking lot. We were talking and I was looking at his bike. The light bar was stock and the PO added the spots. Here are some pics. It looks great if you can't locate the accessory bar.
I just tapped a couple holes in the existing light bar. As soon as I get my bike back from the guy modifying the saddlebag mounts, I'll install the spot lights and show you how they turned out.
