Title: 1500 Struts and spacers Correct way to use them?
Post by: Trall on September 11, 2016, 09:17:36 AM
I have a set of 1500 Struts that I never used them on a 1500 before.  Can someone explain the correct and proper placement and use of the struts and the smaller spacers for mounting saddlebags.  I know how to mount saddlebags and the saddlebag u shaped loops go on the end two holes of the struts.  Attached is a picture of 1500 struts and two smaller spacers.   I have a double seat and a solo seat.

I know the struts mount up to the frame area under the seats.  I think the struts flat side would be facing inwards and the cut out portion faces outward?  Is that right?

What are the smaller spacers for?

Thanks, Trall

I got lucky and digging through the box and packing materials found the original Kawasaki instructions.

Good information Anthony. I never knew what they were for either. I had them with the after market struts and thought they were spacers to allow for the use of nuts to mount the saddlebags due to the fact that the struts were not threaded.  I don't have them with my OEM strutts. You were fortunate to get the whole set with instructions. Thanks for posting.

WLECOME.  After finding them in the abyss of the packing materials it was like finding buried treasure.  Actual Kawasaki instructions how to use for both seats.  Before that I searched everywhere on-line with nothing. It was just cool having Kawasaki paper instructions in my hand from 10 + years ago.  In also had the factory 4 threaded bolts with it.
