I finally got my Roadhouse system hooked up with Samson fishtail exhausts and love it! One of things I really liked with my other Drifter was the sound of the V&H pipes. These Samson pipes offer the same sound and are much lighter that than the stock Roadhouse exhaust, especially with the packed baffles.
The Samson comes with metal baffles (not packed like Roadhouse). I removed the left baffle for a better, less restrictive flow on that side. The only problem with the Roadhouse was with the damn cross over pipe. No matter what I did, it always ended up 2.5 - 3" lower on the left side. After spending 5 afternoons on it, I had enough and took a grinder to cut a slot, 3/4's of the way deep, near the T, and then put it in the vice and pound it to the right height. I then brought it to Pennels (or is it Petricellis or....I can't remember their name so I'll have to get back with that one) to have them weld the stainless steel and they did an amazing job, better than the factory welds.
Anyways, it came out great. I'l l post more pictures and sound afterwards when I finally decide to go trunk /bagless or with bags.

Looks a lot like mine. Love those pipes, Where did you find it? I did the rubber mount for the exhaust as I bought mine with the pipes but the vibration was quite noticeable. Have you had it out and about yet? Is there more vibration than before? Greenbarn had a good write up about vibration on his bike if you are interested.

No, haven't had it out yet. I'm hoping to have it done in time for Sturgis. Both sides of the exhaust are rubber mounted so it should help.
Found the pipes on craigslist but like I said, used Samson mufflers instead (I'll be selling the new Roadhouse mufflers with baffles since I don't need them).
I'll do a followup when I get it on the road...

Finally got her on the road today! This bike shifts smoother than any bike I've ever ridden. All I have left to do is install the Zambini Indian emblems and the rear fender bib.
Have to admit, I like the bagless look so far. The leather trunk seems to hold enough "essentials".

Killer pipes and sounds great. Super nice 2001. Your factory paint theme and bike setup has to be the best look then any motorcycle ever made except mine. Lol. Side note- I own a 2001 after seeing yours a few months ago......Love the dual pipes, Great job...

mittico on all the North American bikes the front blinkers are also marker lights, I took a set of 1500 front lights and have them mounted on the back and they are always on as marker lights a really easy and good mod to be seen.

Whew! good thing to have on hand for sure. Especially right after the gigantic Labor Day weekend. Everything worked overtime especially my blinkers this weekend. A lot of traffic in Watkins Glen NY: destination for car and bike lovers from around the planet. They all descend on Watkins Glen in the summer but especially Labor Day weekend. And they will descend this coming Vintage Race weekend. I better change my blinker fluid after this past weekend, for sure---sat in traffic for hours (slight exaggeration) waiting to take the turn in the center of town at the light and must have sat there for 5,000 to 6,000 blinks. Dam. That'll wreak havoc on the fluids.

As far as I know, here in Italy it's forbidden to use blinkers as marker lights...

You found the right trunk for your bike, I wish I could find one exactly the same only in desert tan.

The lowers are from a Nomad, I added them when I added the Nomad windshield brackets.

I bought the smaller one so it wouldn't "overtake" the rear end. I've gotten alot of compliments already.

If you're talking about the Samson pipes then, no mod needed. They mated right up perfectly to the heat shields. Of course, I had to make hangers for them.
