Title: The Corbin 2up seat, Is She Happy with It?
Post by: RockinRollin on April 27, 2016, 07:54:32 AM
I finally got my new Corbin solo seat installed on my 1500 which I have been working on for some time. Wouldn't you know it now the Wife is showing an interest in riding with me . So now I'm thinking maybe next year I will get the Corbin 2up. But before I do I will ask anyone with a Corbin 2up and a wife/girl friend if "they" (the significant other) are happy with the Corbin 2up?

They ride pretty good...Y'all will be allot happier though with a sheep skin thrown over it. Keeps her from sliding forward on you evertime you slow down. Need backrest of course...

Ma-deuce has got a 2up seat, but that's the OEM one.
I use to ride a lot together with my wife (thanks Good Lord, her parents are able to keep our 5 years son during our rides...): according to her comments, it's a smooth ride (but I've got to avoid holes...) and ever more after I put on a pair of passenger's floorboards (but now she needs to lay her back on a sissybar, so that's gonna be my next purchase...).
Just my 1,5 cents..
BTW, niiiiice ride you've got!!!

I have the dual tour with both backrests fitted and we like it but the riders seat is lower and the pillion is higher than the mustang I had on before but it suits us.

Hi Ronnie,
Bike looks great, good job. I have had the corbin two up seat for several years. For me, was one of my best additions on the bike, great seat, well constructed, very comfy, for me and my sled bitch. But my humble opinion, looking at your bike, might take a little away from that true solo look of your bike. Cheers

Important info to add to last post. I originally purchased my first 2-up seat from the dealer when I purchased my 01 drifter (will not call it a saddle, it was a poor imitation at best compared to my corbin 2-up saddle). But I remember also I had to purchase additional frame members to support the 2-up seat which could be challenging to find now.

My bike had the fire and steel 2 up seat on it when I bought it so I already have the horse shoe.

If you have the Fire & Steel 2up, you might consider doing what I did.  I got 2 large gel pads (from Saddleman I think) and hogged out a little of the foam on my F & S seat, added a some thin but supportive foam to smooth it out, and then replaced the cover.  The whole job was under $100 and it rides great for both of us.
