Hello all,
Been focusing on my other interests all winter and now finally thinking about the bike.
Wondering where my fellow canucks get their parts and stuff locally.
For instance, put the bike away last year and didn't change the oil (I know I know).
So looking to obviously do one before I take her out, oil doesn't seem to be a problem but my few choices for filters down east are Canadian Tire or something like NAPA (which didn't have bulbs for my light bar).
It would be my preference to get as much stuff locally as possible (probably obvious).
I hope everyone had a good winter and is ready to ride.
Well residing in Lower Sackville you are pretty much off the beaten path of humanity. I purchase my filters from the local Kaw shop same as my oil. Not sure were the nearest Kaw shop is to you way down and out there.
Which bulb on the light bar are you talking about? The spot lights the H3 25W ones, good luck on that I had to get GreenBarn to mail me some of them, never found any in my local area either.
There is a guy over to Sackville NB who might be able to help you, Paul's Bike shop. Then MikeakaFred from Antogonish NS he might be able to steer you towards parts.
Hey Ratman,
Right, dealer is always an option for the filters, there is a kaw dealer in dartmouth.
And yes the spots are H3's I do believe, haven't had any luck locally with those.
correct me if I am wrong but Dartmouth is only some 15 mins south of you? Unless my geography of Canada has changed. So getting oil and filter from the Dartmouth dealer is easy enough.
I been using the synthetic Kaw oil since I bought the bike and am really happy with it.
As for the lights I am sure if you ask one of our southern neighbours who lives close to you to find and buy them for you they would and ship them to you. Seems they are hard to find. I found some LED ones in yellow, but not sure if I like them, because they do not "spot" the road ahead, but they are good for daylight to be seen.
ebay for someparts like the h3 bulbs (25w)
https://www.canadasmotorcycle.ca/ delivered to your doorstep, reasonable shipping.
I found the shipping charges on e bay for the bulbs to be stupid high, more then bulbs are worth.....so I had a couple of sets sent up from the US by my number one parts guy.
For sure, I work in Halifax so drive through Dartmouth all the time.
tj will check canadasmotorcycle.ca

$20 for a pair shipped to your door. Can't find the H3 bulbs in 25w around here...only 55w.
Tj that is the cheapest I have seen them on e bay in a long time. Downs also has a 800 and it has been found that anything other then the 25 watts has a tendency to drain the electrical system over a short time.
ya, decent price.
had the 55w in my aero...changed them as well. after changing the battery of course lol
NICE, thanks TJ, I looked on ebay didn't see that ad.
Just purchased a pair.
Cheers!
I used to have the part number for 800 oil filters from Wix...however they now are having them made in China instead of Poland. The Polish filters were excellent but the Chinese filters are a hair off and have to be forced on...I'll look to se if I can fins a part number. My oil is off the shelf at Walmart...sorry ..lol
