I recently posted another couple of videos of a recent Bike Rally I went on. Here is some aerial footage taken of our group around the Mundi Mundi Lookout west of Broken Hill NSW. The footage was taken by Troy Day with his Phantom drone. He just happened to be at the lookout playing with his new toy when we turned up. One of our group, Tezza, had a chat to him and he agreed to share some footage of our group with us. This is a fantastic clip and gives you some idea of the countryside we rode through.

That was fantastic it was really nice to see, well done.
That was really cool, I much enjoyed it.
That was way cool!
Nice...Thanks, Looks like a good place to ride.
Amazing video...
and nice place to go ridin'!
Drones are popping up everywhere. To be honest when we rolled up I thought, bloody geek, we cannot go anywhere without someone pulling out another toy. In hindsight I am glad he was there because we got a great clip of our ride group. In my opinion the aerial footage was fantastic. It would be great to see something similar from you guys in the USA for the next Drift in event as some of us, almost never get to see another Drifter. It was great seeing our group from that perspective, especially on the big sweeping turn. From up high you could see everyone almost evenly spaced out which enhanced the look, almost as if someone was directing us to get a specific bit of footage.
Hi Walshbrook,
Great clip... wouldn't mind a ride along next time...
Used to be a Melbournian but am now in CBR - work. My close friend is in Mel and he too got a 1500 Gooseberry.
Drop me a line?
Mak
Always happy to meet other Drifters. I was up in Canberra on mine in January. If you are coming down this way PM me and we can go for a ride, check out each others Drifter etc.
not sure if this works. lets see...
very nice picture but Mak, you need to get all over your mate to get white walls on the yellow one.....be so much nicer and look the class act it could be......lol......
Thanks
... had WW on it earlier - didn't like it! I have now real old style tyres on it ...
Am in the process of updating the bikes - the yellow will become like (not copied) the Cobra police bike ... and while at it I put my chrome spokes back on the white one and the purple will be dressed down be non touring again - just the big tank will stay on it.
Oh my so much to do so little garage space lol
Nice bikes. I like the white one best. Unfortunately my wife will not let me have more than 1. Here is my favourite photo of me and my Drifter:
Man of few words but hanging on the mob phone - classic.
Is your J1 still in the OEM colours?
M
Yes. The photo was for use with work hence the mobile phone. The bike is still in stock colour. Here are some recent shots:
kool
seems you have a set of Ospreys?
I like the look of the flat plate on the rear ... makes it nice contoured looking
Mak
They are actually Sing Saddlery bags. When I was looking I had lots of trouble getting the guy at Osprey to even return my emails and then when he did he quoted me a ridiculous delay period so I tried the Sing gear. They work ok but the leather is of cheap quality and I doubt it will last. Also they did not make the bags mirror image so if you look closely they are not balanced form side to side. I can live with them as they were cheap and I only put on the bike for longer multi day trips. By flat plate I assume you mean between the saddle bags, it heaps to hold more gear. If you meant the number plate, I got it form Cruiser Customising in the USA, it is designed for a Harley and I modified ti to fit. I like the more angled affect.
Laying down the license plate is pretty easy. It took me about an hour (most of that was waiting for the paint to dry enough to handle the metal backing plate) and cost next to nothing.

Cool vid! 8)
The Video was Fantastic give a different perspective, last time I was up Mildura way we nearly went to Broken hill, wish I had now ,oh well next trip
There are lots of long boring sections of road out that way so if you like turns and elevation changes, Broken Hill might disappoint. But there is a lot of fantastic scenery out there if you like big open spaces.
