Title: Drifter 1500 exhaust swap
Post by: Ghostrider on September 17, 2009, 13:58:19 PM
I have stock exhaust on my 1500 drifter now but I keep seeing what looks like vintage exhaust on a lot of the bikes pictured in the members section (pipes like the ones on Drifter 1946's bike). Those are really cool looking exhaust, but where can you get them and what kind of mods do you have to do to install them. I would love to have a set of those pipes. Thanks for anyones help with this.

My guess would be Roadhouse  Dooleys or 2 into 1. Saving my pennies for a set of dooleys with caddy tips.

Also check the store under exhaust.

There was one that used to be made (the name Cobra comes to mind) that had that characteristic upsweep in the rear, but they don't make them any more I don't think, and I heard that they weren't the most durable things in the first place.

No the cobra pipe is not longer made. You can have a look in the mods section of the website. There is info about adapting nomad duel pipes to the drifter, and other exhaust related mods.
