Hiya Gang-
I just wanted to let you guys know that I just stumbled on a website- kawasakipartshouse.com
You can search for the part you need BY NAME... Then the site gives you part numbers and prices...
Anyhow, I think it's a good way to cross reference parts and what they'll fit.
For instance, I wanted a new chrome hub cover for the right side of my front wheel (VN800 Classic).
I know you just can't get 'em anymore... Fire and Steel or aftermarket (Cobra, etc)
But I searched on that site for a VN900 front axle, which by the way is Part#41068-0058... And then searched for 2001 VN800 Classic front axle, and the part numbers are THE SAME.... So, apparently I can order a new one for the VN900 and it SHOULD fit.
It looks like the Drifters use the same axle... I know a few guys that own 'em WANT the hubcap, so I suppose the Cobra cap for the VN900 would work on a Drifter... 800 or 1500, too. But don't quote me.
I'd imagine that the page could be used to cross reference just about every part, nut and bolt from one bike to another.
I guess it's a good way to cross reference and side reference and backways reference... Well, it is fer me!
I hope that helps at least a few of you!
CHEERS!
Slick in Columbus!
That's good to know. Thanks, Mike
Sounds good, I could not find - search by name - on the site you mention at all though. Perhaps you used the live chat opportunity. Other customers do have to wait. Nevertheless they switch this function on and off. No, it really wasn't there and it mentioned all the search options (2): search by number and chat (when available).
For more European oriented Japanese bike enthusiasts I recommend CSMNL. Link below. They do have a search function but "handle" found results instead of "handlebar" what couldn't and for chosen bike only. Anyway, when a name is inside the diagrams list, it will present the item.
I could always pick the right motorbike out of a whole lot and they do have pictures. Duh! Internet search provides all possible clues, like interchangeability, after market solutions and prices, ones you have the part number. Some parts however do have recycled part numbers, like indicator lenses. Soon you'll see sellers listing all bikes where it's meant to fit, for final check.

There is also ron ayers, partzilla, to find and locate cross reference parts.
also don't forget our own links and see what is located there to find and cross reference parts, and or find those items that are not for sale anymore.....
