Title: Bike Show pictures
Post by: CDNRatMan on January 09, 2016, 22:30:14 PM
Took a few shots at the Toronto Bike show, not a Drifter in the building. Not a cruiser at the Kawasaki display, only sport bikes. But got a few shots one for GB and his John Deere fetish. Some really nice old bikes for the older riders.....

some cool choppers, that is the Spider bike from American Chopper and Paul Jr. was there and crazy long line to get your picture taken with him....Horny Mike and Rolly were also in attendance but the line up to get a picture was nuts......besides I have my picture with other far more famous and important people like Troll, GB, Driftingirl, oh and any other member of this forum....

Looks like fun time and some cool bikes.  Not sure about wooden frame bike.  If you put that much time building a machine why use wood for a frame.  IDK.  Just because I guess.  Thanks for looking for a speedo visor and the pics......

All three of us have been at different years to the show and this year was a bit of a let down. The 2 lads I was with are H-D riders ..no nothing against them and I do hang around with them. But they had the same opinion as i did, there seemed to be something lacking.
The one place selling belts for example had tons of belts with trucker themed engravings, nothing with bike stuff. Even the dealers seemed to have minimal stuff on the floor, I personal think the Indian dealer had the largest display and the most merchandise for sale. The section for swap meet things was almost empty only like 3 people set up there. And most of that was dirt bike stuff.
But it was a decent show some interesting stuff learned and seen and now to move forward with it. I did see a guy from Toronto who builds custom side cars......food for thought as I get older and reach the age bracket of 49 and GB.......
Anyone looking for parts should list it in the looking to buy and then when other members are out at swap meets they might be able to find it for you. I am looking for nothing for myself right now. But I know a few people looking for 800 speedo visors.

Perhaps the manufacturer has used a wooden frame to make sense of the fact that the passenger might seem like a sparrow perched on that saddle hanging on nothing... ;)
BTW, nice report Mr. Ratman!

Sorry we missed you at the show on Saturday. We got a late start and did not arrive until around 2:00pm. The place was mobbed by that time. It took us about an hour to orient in the facility! Trying to locate a specific human seemed a bit daunting! It was a fun day for the both of us. The show was big, but maybe a bit uninspired. I did see a few things that really caught my eye though. Brenda and I both like the Vincent Black Shadow sleeper bike.

The scooter people seem to be doing some interesting things these days:

By 1400 we were on the 400 north bound. We arrived Friday evening and went over and spent from 1500 till 2130 looking around and it was near empty so no crowed and got to see what we wanted and I did all my shopping then.
Was told the next time to go on Sunday because near the end of the day is when they really drop the prices on things.

Maybe next time I am in the Fort Erie area we can figure out a meeting place....and did Brenda enjoy it?

By the sounds of it I missed you by a day.
Went there on Saturday. A friggin zoo. Wall to wall people and over an
hour to get into the parking lot and find a spot.
Sure they had some interesting things to see, but I don't understand the
$20.00 door charge to basicly  go shopping.
Cross that one off my bucket list...
