Ok so after posting the first picture this year of my holiday lights on my bike GB had me thinking due to a pm he sent me about how long the cord would be power my light sat night on a ride. So he thinks he is smart. I called an electrician friend and presented my problem to him, so he came up with a small converter that now has my LED lights DC powered. Then remembering the discussions we had about amps / wattage and such, thanks to Troll and Chief adding in their wise counsel and opinions, I decided we need to do something here. With the help of my buddy the electrician that wee issue has been over come. Then late last night I talked to a buddy who is a metal fabricator and he is making me a battery box which will clamp to the passenger running board. Then I can ride with my nice lights all night long.,...........I have been testing it and seems to be working well......
Black or Chrome? ( for the battery box)...
Don't you think, aesthetically, you should put one on each side?
See there you go again, if you were healthy and spending time with your family instead of causing me to go with all your ideas....ok it will be powder coated black and then the batteries should be hooked up in ? parallel or in series? Then loads of power.......
Hmmm, I would run them neither parallel or in series.... don't you want to keep them separate, just to run the lights?? then they can't drain your main battery.
But carry jumper cables, and you can always jump yourself!
>:( oh more to worry about.....and to think about another sleepless night..........
You crack me up!
Just my opinion, but you might want to address the way you have the wires running from the battery to the lights. And since you are getting so high-tech with the lights, why not go wireless, then you wouldn't need the batteries.....of course then you wouldn't be able to jump yourself, :o as suggested by GB.....
;) wires were cleaned up and sent up through the frame.....was actually really easy to make work......
