Title: back rest for OEM solo seat
Post by: wynewolf on September 11, 2009, 08:10:04 AM
Hey everyone,  I was wondering if anyone knows of a back rest I can add to an OEM 1500 solo seat....or if I need to buy a new seat from Corbin?

Thanks, Brent

There's not one for the oem solo. Some folks have figured out how to adapt one to fit - usually in combo with a rack.

I've had a look at this... it looks like it might have potential.

If you're running ghost brackets it looks like the 800 drifter solo backrest might be adapted to work.  See what you think.  Take a look at the close up pics at the bottom of the page.  http://www.scootworks.com/shop.cgi/page=partskawbackrest.htm/SID=PUT_SID_HERE

Thanks for the links and ideas.  I'm trying to make up my mind on what I want to do...the guy I bought my drifter from built his passenger seat/ sissy bar.  It's easy to remove when I want to ride solo...just remove 4 bolts and it's off.  After looking in mods/tips I love the idea of the mustang seat....since that's what I had put on my last bike and because the passenger seat is higher it will work as a back support.  I'll let you know what I'm going to do...and I'll send pics of the final mod.
Thanks again,
Brent
