Does anyone have a good source for chrome rear engine guards for the 800?
I've seen them on some gallery bikes (like http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/forum/index.php?topic=22451.0), but have never found anyone that seems to be making/selling them. Any assistance in locating them is appreciated.

The only source, ever was Ted Struble...He retired from the business a couple of years ago, sold off all his stock. Here is a pic of his bike at Drift-In 2013. I'm pretty sure this is what you're looking for...good luck, you'll need it!
Troll is correct but you might want to keep an eye on the UK sits and try e bay uk, there is a couple people looking to try and have some made over there. I have seen the odd one for sale on the UK site but not in a while now. So best of luck to you.

I bought them from Ted's, via ebay, last year. Since then I've never seen them again on the internet.

BTW, here's mine:
I just finished building a set for myself out of 1" tubing. Pretty easy to do really. Am calling powdercoaters now to get them coated. So far I have about $15 or so in tubing. If there is a race car fabricator near you they can bend the tubing and then you can make the tab and I used some solid rod I had left from another project and cross drilled it and slid it into the tube end and welded it all together.

I didn't take step by step pictures, but can explain how I did it. They will be done at the powder coating on friday afternoon by the way. Will have my son explain how to post pictures.
Bought 5 ft. of DOM mild steel tubing, .065 wall thickness at Shapiro Metal here in St.Louis,MO. Called everyone In the phone book it seemed to get it done. Finally someone suggested Mittler Bros. out in Wentzville, MO so I called them and they said sure, just bring them the metal. Mittler makes metalworking tools for the custom auto industry and a lot of home shop stuff. Ray at Mittler took about 15 minutes to bend both tubes to shape and didn't charge me anything for it. I Made plugs to fit in the footpeg bracket by turning about .010 off some 7/8" mild steel rod and crossdrilling them for 5/16" bolts to fit in the footpeg bracket holes. Made a couple tabs about 2" long with a 1/4" hole at one end to fit under seat. Cut and fit them for a couple hours till the looked about right and then welded them.
They were bent to about a 165 degree bend using a 3" radius mandrel. Since I had cut them to 30" there was a lot of material to experiment with. Could have used 20" long each instead of 30"
The reason for the plugs was that I couldn't figure out how to drill a hole through the tubing in the right place where it goes into the footpeg bracket and a plug could be bolted in place and the tubing slid over it and tacked then welded. The pictures above show a square U channel welded on the end of the tube, but a plug seemed easier and cleaner to me.

You could even think about makin' a buziness of it... I guess many other Drifter riders would like to purchase those bars!
It was dirt cheap to make them, about $15 in materials, but powder coating was another $50. Like in another post, it would be easier for a person to build his/her own because there is no real money in making small batches.
I'd be on that list if you decide to crank out a few dozen. I'd take mine plain steel and then ponder a while whether I wanted chrome or powder.
