Title: Appearance of factory saddle bags?
Post by: Tector on October 23, 2015, 15:13:45 PM
I just bought a used 1999 Drifter, which I love.  When I first looked at the bike (before deciding to buy), it has a solo seat and no saddle bags; the previous owner said that it came with saddle bags, but he thought they were after-market.  Before I picked the bike up, I ordered (off the internet) a set of saddle bags that had been taken off another 1999 Drifter; those bags came with the struts that attach to a two-up seat (which I also bought), and the loops that attach to the struts.  Then when I picked up the bike, I saw that the saddle bags came with the same struts (no two-up seat, though), and the same loops, although each set of bags looks very different from the other.

So, my questions:  did Kawasaki offer factory saddle bags for the 1999 Drifter?  If so, what did they look like?  I don't need 2 sets of bags, so I'd like to sell one, but if either is factory, that's what I'd like to keep.
