Has anybody tried to fit up any accessory wind deflectors, such as Baker air wings? I ride pretty much year-round here in the Northwest, and on my other bike I have Moto wings which really make a big difference, it's like having a faring to cover my legs. I was just curious, because I was looking on the Baker site and they don't have Drifters as one of the bikes they build wind deflectors for, but they do have sort of a universal bracket to mount up to almost any bike.
Tom, I remember seeing a few posts on here where members have made their own and they turned out great. You may have to go that route. Good luck.
I've not seen "air wings" per say, but Lowers are a popular addition, and they do a similar job. If you want something even more like your air wings, then I'd suggest looking into an engine guard with chaps.
Here's some info on lowers: http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/forum/index.php?topic=22935.0
And here's a Drifter with an engine guard with chaps added: http://www.accessoryinternational.com/merchant2/graphics/00000003/drifter_800_f&s.jpg
Here is a guy close to RockinRobin who makes them to order......

I mad a set of lowers for my 800 from adapting PC's template, 1500 template was too large really, also if you have a front engine guard you will need to cut a spot out for the turn in the front wheel.

A hole saw works well for that.
My lowers are a little narrower but they do a great job keeping my mustache from tangling up with my nose hairs.
Well I'm reviving an old thread here, but what I ended up buying is some chaps to go on my crash bars. This guy on eBay will custom build them for you for 60 bucks plus shipping:

The first set he sent me did not quite fit, and he made it right for me. Now he has the correct pattern for a drifter 800. I'll try and post a pic or two.
tfrank: I know you were intent on lowers, but bought chaps. Here is a previous discussion we had on engine guard chaps for the 800. See

This string includes photos of my 2002 and a link to ones I bought last season. They are made for the 800 F&S engine guard and fit 100%.
