Title: Drifter 800 solo seat rail and derby covers
Post by: Latnspy on September 06, 2015, 13:11:20 PM
Hi, I'm  new to this forum from San Diego, CA. I'm interested in buying a silo seat sail for my 800 Drifter and also a derby cover. If anyone has one for sale or knows where I can purchase one please message me. Thanks and happy riding 😎✊

exactly what do you mean by derby cover? There is no part like that on a Vulcan. Solo seat rails were never made for an 800, but Singh Saddleries is now hand making them. He is on FaceBook.

a derby cover is also known as an engine cover or insert, its a a round plate on the side of the engine and I've seen them on other metrics.

Not sure but I am thinking you might not notice that there is no single engine cover as such on the 800,

but you can see here the different engine covers.

only covers I know of are the Strator cover, clutch cover, left engine cover. Nothing like a derby cover like on an H-D.

That term, Derby cover is a Harley term. Refers to the clutch cover plate on the primary side....they put all sorts of emblems on them.

Does any one have or seen an 800 seat rail from Singh? I have not and would be interested in one if he is really making then for the 800.

If someone has one from Singh that goes on a stock solo seat, post a photo please.

Has anyone actually purchases a seat rail from Singh Saddleries, I looked him up on Facebook and sent him a friend request and a request for info on the rails, but he hasn't responded?

I have not personally, but I know others have.  He seems to be really busy, and has a reputation of being hard to get in touch with.

Our long-lost friend Drift1 has purchased from him, and seems to be able to get in touch with him.   He's kind of been our VDR go-to contact.  Trouble is, D1 has been really busy lately and hard to get in touch with too....      Seems to be going around.... :o

Welcome to the club, my 800 Drifter is a 2000......I've been searching for a used solo seat everywhere with no luck.  I've been told by my local dealer they can get one for the price of a small village. Please let me know if it's one out for me....I will wait my turn, second in line.
