Where is the ECU fuse at? Does anyone have a part number? I am troubleshooting the fuel pump. The tank was full of rust cleaned it up along with fuel pump and bought a new battery. I cannot hear the fuel pump working and I'm thinking maybe it's something electrical. I've heard about the ECU Fuse and the ignition switch being out. Starting with the cheapest first. 1999 drifter 1500
Soon as one of the 1500 lads see that they will tell you
Couple of things to start with...does the efi light come on with key up? If it does the fuse is ok. Next. the fuse is located in a separate holder, white in color, near the battery, on the back frame cross member. Third thing...The ECU grounds the fuel pump to make it run. There is a 4 wire connector for the pump. One side is B+ with the key on, the other runs to ground through the ECU.The connector should be under the speedo console. Do you have an aftermarket ign. switch? The first gen. OEM switches have been known to fail just like this, too. The Thunder kit for relocating requires a special wiring mod to allow the pump to run. This fails and leaves you scratching your head...same with the older OEM switch, been there, done that. Here's a diagram of the plug. Get out your 12v test light and check stuff.
You should find it tucked away, behind the main junction box, outside of the battery box. It is all by itself, and not in the main fuse block. (from 45's info when he had this issue)

Looks like a home made fix to me....the oem box is much nicer than the one from autozone...
That was 45's pic from when he had this issue.
What are those two spare connectors for then? I have them on mine?
B+ and ground for accessories. Not switched, live at all times
Have you checked that the vechicle down sensor was correctly re-installed after battery/tank removal ? It's a small (approx 1") cubic black little box, that can slip down out of sight when the (from memory) battery cross bar is removed to get the battery out. It's at the tank (front) end of the crossbar. This will cause a totally dead engine when triggered - no startor cranking at all. Is this what you have ?
