I'm here to tell you, I'm not liking Bill much at all... Tropical Storm Bill, that is. We've had a really crappy week.
Saturday, finally got a day to take a short ride - clear skies when I left. Got really wet in a downpour on the way home.
Monday, got absolutely soaked trying to get the lawn mowed. Came in so fast I couldn't get to the barn fast enough.
Tuesday was the killer. We had so much rain there was flooding everywhere. I hear reports from 6-8 inches within 24 hours, 5-6 of it from 7 AM-12 noon. I saw water laying in places I've NEVER seen water. Some of the old timer's said they've never seen water as high around here. Local hardware store flooded with 4-5" all day. Several houses with water up to the doors. Personally, we had water both in the shop at work, and the shop at home, and of course the basement in the house got water. Anybody want some slightly used carpeting? You drag it out, and you can have it... I'm sure it will dry out eventually.....
Thursday, caught in another torrential downpour doing the Father-in-Law's chores in the evening (he had a heart stint put in and is laid up for a few days). Wet again. Had some kind of crazy straight-line winds that took out part of a big crab-apple tree in our back flowerbed.

I needed more work to do..... >:(
>:( :( ??? and you want me to ride 15 hours down to visit you in that sh**.............
It's been like that around here too. Nasty stuff this year!
Pretty major t-storms this morning, but it blew through and now the sun is out....I feel bad for you guys...At least it's not the snow Ratman has to deal with
Yeah, speaking of Ratman, I wonder if he's managed to tunnel out of his house yet, or if he's still snowed in?

Everything up his way will probably completely thaw out by August to be quickly followed by the first snow in September.

The water should be down somewhat by then.... If it ever quits RAINING... Rained today, rain in the forecast every day for the next 7 days.... :'(

If it were snow, that 9" of rain we've had the last week, would be something like 4-5 feet, right? That would probably be WORSE.
Hate to hear it...a few years back we had a downpour that lasted hours and flooded most of everything around here including our first floor, which is the wife's business office. Drainage system was overwhelmed but garage was dry, thankfully! Hope you dry out soon.
...and more rain. Most of the day Saturday, all day today.
Check this out - what is WRONG with this picture....
Almost NO rain across the US and Canada.... OH, except for THE WHOLE STATE OF OHIO!!!
8) you might want to buy some wood, not sure what type of wood gopher wood...and start your ark.

Not sure I'll need the boat.... When I put my sox on this morning, I noticed my feet are starting to sprout webbing between the toes.
Pretty soon we'll both be able to breath under water!
...sounds fishy to me.... :)
OK, this is getting old.... I have never in my entire life seen it rain this much here. Not just rainy days - heavy thunderstorms. We get an inch every 2-3 days, Then maybe a nice day (it was nice yesterday), then more rain. Probably a half inch again today. Water laying everywhere. Basement is wet. can't get in to mow the grass. yuck... I think I'm going south next week to get away from it all!!!
So, since I can't change the weather, thought maybe if I tried to look at the BRIGHT SIDE, maybe it would help.
--- haven't had to water the lawn all year
--- the dust is down
--- I've saved money on fuel for the mower.
--- Saved a LOT of money on fuel for the Drifter... :(
--- Have gotten little to no sunburn this year
--- With the current crop of mosquitoes, I haven't had to drain back my blood supply... they've taken care of that
--- It's been a big help identifying exactly WHERE the water comes into the basement - gee, now there is no doubt
--- It's really settled the dirt from the previous excavating work that we did in the spring...
--- The pond is FULL
--- Pasture is growing really well
--- the sidewalks and streets are not dirty
--- didn't get the garden put out, so that's a lot of work saved...
--- now I know what it's like to live in the tropics, so I can rule that off my bucket list
--- All the molds and fungi are REALLY healthy this year
--- no need to wash the car- the roads are never dry long enough
--- not much danger of the well going dry this year
--- It's been helpful to be able to find numerous low spots in the yard I never knew were there before
--- it saves countless hours looking at weather reports - no need to, we already know it's either raining or getting ready to
It helps to look at the bright side....
...sounds like the guys in the white suits and nets are coming to visit you.....

We'll have to change your nickname...
Took a nice three hour ride this morning. Ideally a beautiful clear day with nothing but sunshine. So what am I doing now? Sitting in my basement listening to the tornado sirens watching my lights flicker. That's Wisconsin weather for you.
Today was Freedomfest La Crosse. 250 bikes did a river run to honor Veterans. It was 90° and BEAUTIFUL!!! everybody was bitching about the heat..except me. I stood out in the sun and baked all day...felt REALLY good.
