Does anyone know if I need the horseshoe bracket with the Corbin 2up seat, for my 1500?

Definitely YES, that's what supports the back half of the seat
and carries the load.

Reason I'm asking the guy selling said he never had one and road folks on the back.

They are tough seats. But the seat will flex without the horseshoe, and will hit the fender. Eventually it will fail... which could be very very dangerous.

Do not fit it without the horseshoe, any dual seat will require it on this bike.
