Hey folks, I recently bought a 2004 Drifter 800. The previous owner had mounted the 2 up seat but also had the stock solo seat. He however didnt incluse tha brackets for the solo seat. Is there a resource for these brackets?
Please help!
Thanks James
Take a look at this: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Kawasaki/Motorcycle/2004/VN800-E4+Vulcan+800+Drifter/SEAT/parts.html
BTW: if that doesn't help you much, than try to look over this Forum. As far as I remember, there's been a previous post talkin' exactly about that issue.
I'll take a stab in the dark here and say that the mount from the 2 up seat is also the mount for the solo seat.
Yea, you probably have to move over the brackets to the other seat.
The two up bracket is different than the solo seat bracket. However, if you have a factory 2 up seat, you must dissemble that seat and use some of those parts to use the solo seat.
The Corbin seat for the 800 comes with an integral "horseshoe" bracket. Otherwise you need that for the installation.
Drawing for the 800 is at the bottom of this page...

Here is a pic of the brackets I made up.
These look right you made them for a 800 drifter?
Ill take a set please let me know how much shipping will be.
Thanks James
Yes, for an 800, there is a 6mm weld nut attached to the bracket.
A 1500 brkt doesn't have the nut.
Email me your address and I can get you a cost.

Hey My zip is 29501 can you get the shipping cost. I bought the brackets to attach the frame these will attach from the stock solo seat to the frame bracket correct? they look similar to the ones off of the stock 2 up seat.
Will get that for you.
You wouldn't happening to be going to Drift-In?

I am considering buying a Corbin solo seat for my 800 Drifter, my concern is mounting it since my bike came with the 2up seat. Does anyone know if the Corbin seat will mount directly to the frame or do I need those solo seat frame fittings. I would hate to spend all that cash and still not be able to install the Corbin seat.
If you find a Corbin solo, it should bolt directly on your bike.
That would be sweet, one less challenge to worry about. Now I have to figure out what color, then bags.
I started with the stock solo seat. I bought a factory 2 up Corbin covered seat that was manufactured with the factory seat pan. NOTE: Different than the Corbin two up seat.
The stand up clips were the same.
I am going to be selling this seat. It has the horseshoe install. You will need your stand offs from your seat to install it. Simple to do.
$350 shipped to anywhere in the USA. Pick it up in Seattle for $300. It is a Corbin that built the seat on top of the factory seat pan. Big difference in comfort.
