Since the weather does get to at least 40 degrees F now and then over the winter in Maryland, I do get out, so thought I'd invest in some winter gear to keep the wind off my ankles. Looked around and seemed there were only 2 choices, scootworks and the chaps sold on this link, from one of Ratman's fellow countryman to our north:

These are designed for the Fire and Steel engine guard and are made of high quality vinyl. I like that they are open on the outside so you can still see the engine guard (obviously designed to accommodate highway pegs). Good price, good fit, so thought I'd share. The source is currently on vacation as you will note on the website.
This also means I found a black F&S engine guard since Drift-In '14, for those who remember my machine. So I have a black engine guard from Guido I'd be willing to part with if someone is looking for one. Here's a few photos of the chaps installed...
I have been looking at thses for awhile now and have not decided if I want them or not, but if they look that good on your Guido bars, then perhaps I should get them. We do get up to at least 40* F in the summer time so might be worth having.
Ratman....these are NOT installed on Guido's bars, they are installed on a Fire and Steel engine guard and designed for the factory accessory. You will probably have to have something made for the Guido bar....they are larger diameter tube and different shape.
ok this seller is about 5 hours south of here, so perhaps a nice summer's day ride down and I can pick them up and have them done...easy....
Chillowee out of Oregon state makes and sells some really nice leather engine guard chaps. You can select chaps to fit different engine guard manufactures for 800 or 1500 Drifters. Leather is a little pricey, but quality and craftsmanship always are. I am very pleased with my Chillowees. CDD
This guy is nearby me and I have spoken with him. I plan on buying direct from him this season. That being said I am planning on being in MD the weak of March 6th. Ratty he can make to measure also, but if you are coming to your brothers his pretty close, just near the Picton bridge near Belleville.
I'll be in the Kingston area in May for the Ride for Dad and will order them at that time.....because I want something a wee bit different.....

I was fortunate my PO bought both factory bars and chaps. Nothing better for spring and fall rides.
Rode yesterday in 40 degrees F.....they make a difference.
I have a set on mine & they definitely make a difference. You also get reminded real soon when it starts to get warm outside that they need to come off.
