Well after spending yesterday locked in a small classroom teaching 21 USAF personal and listening to them planning their Thanksgiving ....lol.....I did threaten to keep them till 1600 before I would be done, oh and if they passed the test...........at noon I told the Sr MSgt that we were done and she could cut the class free for the day......they were some happy so that was my Thanksgiving gift to them....

and same same for the rest of you here and have a safe holiday......

We got a couple of inches over night...and it's 8 deg. right now....but they claim it will hit 40 on Saturday...but with more snow tonight. I guess it could be worse. Maybe this will be one of those winters that wasn't like we had a few years ago, but I'll be thankful for getting through it, again!

LOL... I'm sure you know the American and Canadian holiday... a particular group of settlers (Pilgrims and Puritans from England)celebrated a good harvest and gave thanks to God for helping them survive. Canadians celebrate in October, we celebrate on this date in November. Its a FEASTING holiday. Turkey being the tradition.

Anyway, Cheers and thanks for thinking about us!

So it's an English holiday then, I mean technically, that was when you were still an English outpost and before you became revolting?

John.

Well, I guess you could credit England with helping to develop it... in the same way you could credit England with helping establish the USA!  8) ::)  Canada is a whole different story!

Anyway hope you had a good THURSDAY! Cheers.

Please don't get the idea that I am English..

My Mother was English, My father was Welsh and I was born in Scotland..

I call myself a Great Britain..or a Scot..Others call me an English Bas..Mongrel..because I have a sort of English accent..

John.

;) ok for you Yanks....lol......yesterday was the annual Wing inter ranks hockey tournament, and also a really proud day for the USAF contingent. Because of the way the American Thanksgiving fell, they had the 26 was half day work, 27 was thanksgiving and 28 was a day off, unless on crew.
One of the USAF lads decided to come and partake in the Hockey tournament, he was raised in upstate NY. So almost a Canadian. And of course he was on the winning team of Sr. NCO's mess. GB found out the Detachment CO is from 0hi0.....lol.....so I sort of talk to him about that fact........told him I had an in for him when he needs tires, and can get him a super deal......

Nashville Predators - #1 in Central Division... beat the Maple Leafs recently 9-2!  Hockey is a pretty big deal here in TN!

;)  So are you a Predators fan then?

one of my favorite stories about hockey is: Took my ex to a Toronto Leafs vs Colorado Avalanche game in CO when we were there. She was not a hockey fan but tolerated me watching every game that was on TV back then. So got the tickets arrived early to scope out the arena, and were our searts were, unlike K-A we were jot season ticket holders.
Do the anthem thing, pucks gets dropped and about 5 mins go past, ex leans over and asks me really serious why she can not hear the play by play announcers with what is going on....lol......
Had to explain that at the arena there is no such thing....lol....

The ONLY game I will go out to see. Faye was looking at getting a box (for her company)... too much money! But now she will periodically rent one. I prefer that over the stands... for many, many reasons.

Here's one of the reasons the USA and Canada are "family"... The Canadian fans finished singing our anthem!
