I've got a 99 1500 Drifter with about 40,000 miles on it ... I'm thinking about installing a Progressive spring kit on it because it just seems very soft when I brake and it also seems that when I hit a hole it hits hard ... So my question is did anyone install this kit and do you feel it made a differance in the ride ... Thanks Rick
My 01 had very poor fork response. I installed the progressive kit and flushed the fork oil, replaced it with DEXRON III auto trans fluid, Very happy with the results..that was almost 50,000 miles ago.
Thanks Troll thats what I wanted to hear I learned something about using Dextron lll ...
I just had the Progressive Springs installed, as well as the steering head bearing. The front end no longer jumps all over the road and the turns are as smooth as butter.
Have used Progressive springs since 2002. You can adjust the "feel" with different length PVC. The bike comes with progressive wound springs in the forks, but the Progressive springs seem to help a lot.
