Older people are taking over the road by force in The Netherlands on their electric bikes. Most of those have sensors exactly doubling the force applied to the pedals. Such do not require insurance or small driver license. No matter what sort of throttle you have on a bicycle, every-one agrees those, mostly, older people are a thing to be reckoned with in traffic. Here a man that does not have to stop making his new invented model and a small impression.

This is how easily things can change. I consider older people on bicycles most likely being rockets when I see them. Most of the time I am right. Have a nice weekend. Alfred
there is a huge issue here with the E-bikes as they are called, you can not hear them and they are fast (@ 30 kmh), one lady hauls a trailer for a small car behind hers and holds up traffic because they can not get around here, no license no insurance and already a few cases of drunk riders.....a real pain I think....till I get one.
Personally, I'd be more concerned with people tripping over that extension cord...
I heard that some were powered by gerbils running on exercise wheels connected to generators.
I can hear the old folks' conversation now at the coffee shop. . . .
Q: Whatcha got runnin' in that bike there?
A: A six-pack of gerbils.
I'm afraid this old person has just got a speeding ticket 300 miles from home..
