As the new guy im curious how often do you guys get together or how many of you if any live close to me in so cal. I habe allot of work left an not asking for help working on my bike but if anyone wamts to meet my garage has ALLOT of cold beer and I would love to see what other drifter are like get opinions ideas ect an generally just hang out with people of my same hobby is always nice. I am a diesel mechanic by profession work on locomotive engines for the rail road an now that I am in a job where tools are supplied for me all my pretty tpys are at home in the garage getting used to sitting lol so my thought is if anyone is up to it an lives in my area an wants to meet up in 2 weeks on weekend do a ride an a bbq I have huge driveway an excessive street parking in a great neighborhood an will supply beer an burgers who wants to hang out and ride?

Go to Registry, get a VDR#, and you get added.  I think we have a good number of members that have just never done that, so there's probably members in your area, but remember, these are rare bikes, so you will never find a ton.  There were only 9000 800cc Drifters made for the whole world market, and another 9000 1500cc bikes made for that same world market, and they did get spread out to all corners of the globe (there were also a few 400cc Japan only models made, but Kawasaki hasn't confirmed the total on them).  Some stayed in Japan, I know there are 3 or 4 in New Zealand, there's a few in Australia, at least 1 in India, 3 in the UAE, spain, Germany, France, England, Canada, the United States......they really got spread around.  I've only ever seen a handful of them in the flesh (No, I haven't made it to Drift-In since I've owned Nadine, but maybe next year as it's pretty close!).

Remember that one really weird person at your last family reunion?  Picture about a hundred of them, all in one family at one time and you've got the gist of it.  About all they have going for them is that they all ride Drifters.

Going to your first Drift-In is like walking into "Toys-R-Us" for the first time as a little kid.... ;D

In all my time shopping and looking for Drifters, I had only seen a total of 3 in the flesh (owned 2 of those) - so pulling into a parking lot with what ended up being somewhere around 30 of them was QUITE a treat.

Maybe this will spark some interest up and you can have a Mini-Drift-In?  Kinda short notice, but maybe make a 3 day weekend out of it?  I won't be there as Indiana is a bit far, but go for it!

There have been a couple of drifter gatherings other than the DI... since there are so few of us around usually it resulted in fewer than five bikes...

It only takes one other bike to make it more fun than riding alone!

Gotta agree...he who travels fastest, goes alone....Of course, most of my trips with a group, up 'till the last few years have been with "brand x" riders....

Ok but im not talking about a long trip with other riders im talking about a specific meet to get to know some other guys that have my bike amd cruise. I will agree that riding solo is peaceful stress free an an absolute dream but for this instance the fun of it is riding with another drifter bc they are so rare

I say you make a specific post with a title that's sure to catch the eye, and then also Email all the Drifter owners in the area and see if you get any bites.
