Title: where to buy matching leather goods for the drifter?
Post by: lumper on February 11, 2011, 17:39:11 PM
Hi all.
I want to buy a solo seat, bags, tank bib and grips and possibly lever covers and fender bibs all to match and in a tan leather.
I have been grabbing pics of other peoples bikes from all over the web with different examples of mods that I like so I have a good idea of what I want but I have no idea where to begin looking.

I looked at Mustang and Corbin and neither have what I am looking for.
Any suggestions?

I have seen heathers leathers but I didnt find everything there either, I am going to look again on her page but in the meantime I thought I would start off with this.

The very first thing I plan to do with my Drifter is change the seat and when I do I want to be sure I can get matching bags and accesories later for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everybody
Lump

:) Welcome to the world of us Tan loving freaks! Apparently, we are freaks, because no major manufacturer of motorcycle leather goods will make anything for us anymore!
To get the seat, bags, tank bib....you have to buy used. Just keep your eyes peeled on the forum classifieds and ebay.
Been there, done that.

Just to let you know I have listed on this forum under for sale a fantastic OEM tan seat for your bike and also the VERY RARE OEM seat rail. Both are listed under for sale or you can email me direct and I will send you pictures.

I bought my corbin seat and a side of the leather used for the seat. From that I have made/covered several of the pieces. Osprey will match leather if they can to make those great bags they sell. The rest is really up to you.  Tan varies in color so be careful.

Hey Lumper,
For the past 1 1/2 years I have been looking for something that would look good on my 1500 and would satisfy my wanting something more nostalgic. I tried a new corbin single, and that didn't do it. I have been looking for a chrome seat rail to go with a new seat, I have bags. Some people have even tried to sell me a seat rail for $350.00. I have found the answer to your prayers. Look up Classic Leathers on Ebay. He will sell you a really nice handmade leather seat on chrome springs, WITH a chrome seat rail for about $250.00. You can get him to make you the whole package with Tan bags, and tank bib for about $500.00. I have not found a better deal, or a better product anywhere else...... Highly satisfied....

Wow, Thank you all so much for all the great information.

I have since decided I have to go black, but I am still looking to do the same thing.,
I have a guy designing me a small set of forward bags and from there we are going to look at a larger rear fender bag to match and then he will begin by covering my seat with the same leather that the bags are going to be made of.
I am waiting for the info and a price though, lol so we will see.
Now though I have several things to look at from your replies.
Thanks again very much.

If you use this ebay Classic Leathers store, please leave a review of the vendor, here in the appropriate forum and/or over on the accessories site in the Vendors section.
