The local dealer has demo days going on so I went down for a couple 15-20 miles test rides. Here are my impressions.
2015 Vintage - Had to smile, my demo had the same paint as my 2001. It felt a little longer than my Drifter and I wish the bars were pulled back a bit more (I have a 4 1/2 by 1 1/2 riser installed on mine). The controls felt good, liked the cruise control. The engine was so smooth and the brakes were awesome. I felt the stock windscreen was a bit taller than I prefer. I really enjoyed the ride.
2015 Roadmaster - Performance was about the same. Like the movable windscreen and placement of the gauges. Radio wasn't bad but not sure I would use it. My big issue was the lack of air flow. It was only in the low 80's today but I baked on the ride. I played around with the lower vents, windscreen height but could not find any way to get decent air flow. I ride with a helmet, glove, jacket, etc.. so maybe if I was t-shrt rider I would have been fine but I doubt it. For cool weather riding I bet this bike rocks but not for summer riding.
I got a chance to demo the 2014 Indians and had similiar impressions. The engine was so smooth and very forgiving. It did feel a little under-powered to me . . . maybe I was expecting to much? The bike was extremely well balanced as it felt super lightweight and very easy to turn at low speeds. I definitely prefer my Drifter though!
