I purchased the seat at the monthly Long Beach Motorcycle Swap Meet for a mere 20 bux! highly recommend, there's always good deals to be found at that place!

Here is a view of the simple mounting bracket I fabricated. It attaches to the stock mounting points on the bike so nothing had to be modified on the frame. I did however ditch as much of the factory plastic covers and foam rubber seals that were once under the stock seat and will soon also be getting rid of the cheesy plastic tray that stores the fuse box and igniter :)

My bike is not any louder than any of the other aftermarket pipes, as a matter of fact it's actually quitter that some! I fabricated baffles for my pipes out of 16 gauge perforated steel (3/16" holes on 3/16" staggered centers) then lightly stuffed the baffles with course stainless steel wool.
In the pic you can see the baffle...........

Would be so nice to have a swap meet around here someplace, I'll have to look to see were the nearest one is. T, you have some really cool ideas for winter projects, I'll have some planning to do.
Would like to see one out here too; that is something I would drive many miles to attend. and spend... :D
Ah to be out in California. We Canadians are limited to what we have access to. Short riding season, crazy shipping prices.... I'm across the border from Detroit but even the swap meets there blow. Just chaps, helmets, polish and all the new stuff that you could just order from a catalog. None of the spread out in a parking lot treasures in old cardboard boxes.
