Title: Momentary panic
Post by: MikeakaFred on April 21, 2014, 08:36:38 AM
I removed all the 2 up stuff from my 800 and decided I would try Driftin' Girl's seat on my bike to see how it would look.  There is something seriously lost in translation.
The Corbin looks Great on her 2 toned 2004 but on my red 2003...not so much.
Any 'bike decorators' out there who might venture a solution .......

I don't know.....I quite like it!  Add colored jewels like the old Indian's maybe?

I see nothing wrong with it, loads of solid coloured rides have a black solo seat, goggle images of the Drifter 800 and see what seats and what colour scheme is out there.
I would suggest a new paint job, but then DriftinGirl will put me on a no visit list, or hit list, and then we have to listen to you and GB talking about painting for another year...... ;) ;D.....
Ok for a red bike try and tan solo, with a touch of them little chrome buttons. Or distressed brown seat leather seat.

  DECSISION time............

I think it looks great, Mike.   What don't you like about it??

You could easily 2-tone that bike, with some black or ivory as the second color....    ;D 8)

I think it looks really nice. The black, red, and chrome seem to go great together. I think it just looks so much different from the way it was before that it is kind of a shock to the system. You went from having the back end of the bike be pretty busy really, with the 2 up seat, saddlebags, sissy bar, and luggage rack (if I'm looking at the right pictures) to a rather simple look comparatively. It will probably just take some getting used to. I think it looks great though.

I'm going to have to agree , IMOP it looks dam good , Mike . Maybe PC is on to something with adding a touch of jewel , but then again I've always been a fan of the jewels , myself . Take a look at this Mike .

I'm not much on the red and tan combo....that black seat looks good to me against red bodywork....just sayin'....give it some time.

I too like the black , KW . This reason behind the picture provided was to show options with the jewels on the seat , sorry should have mentioned that in the previous thread . Although the Indian looks SWEET just the way its set up  8) LOL

I appreciate your comments guys.
I think I will just ride it for now with the factory single seat that came as part of the package. Since I will be following Driftin' Girl when out with the Drifter, I can see what a Corbin seat looks like by keeping an eye on her rear end,  which is an even better view since she lost 10 lbs. !  :)
