Title: Noise in front when turning
Post by: Jobi on April 13, 2014, 09:33:46 AM
Driving in a straight line is fairly quiet. When turning, at higher speeds (meaning anything above 20-30km/h) I get this humming noise coming from the front. Can't say for sure if I do or don't feel anything in the handlebars. Is this normal for bikes that have fenders like ours? Something to do with the wind resistance and all, or am I looking for some bearing repairs/replacement or something similar?

Sounds like possible cupping on the front tire to me.  How many miles on the tire?

Agree it sounds like tires.  My old set did it even though I could hardly feel any cupping. Replaced the tires.  No noise.

My tires make noise also...more on some road surfaces than others.

No more than 7825km (4527miles) ;) . They do have some years on them though.

I expect to do a tire change this season sometime as I'll (hopefully) be putting more miles on them.
