Someone in Britain has a VN1500 with bottom end problems, in the old days if the crankshaft had overheated we could send it away to a local firm and get it reground and they would supply new bearings (shells) to fit the regrind..
These days Britain is pretty much a shadow of it's old self and although we can get shafts reground we can't get the shells, my thoughts were that maybe the chap could buy the new shells in the USA or Canada and have the shaft reground to fit the shells in Britain..doing it this way would save on the cost of shipping the shaft both ways across the Atlantic..
Your thoughts please?
John.
I suspect that would work fine.
Not sure where you'd source the oversized bearings (shells).
I don't believe Kawasaki offers oversize bearing inserts...stock sizes only. Possibly a race builder could help?
Oversize is not an option. They are not produced. New crank is in order to fix your problem.
