Has anyone put a solo springer seat on a 800 Drifter? I would like to know where I can find the mounting brackets and hardware.
I would like to have a "bolt on" setup if possable.
I am looking for a solo seat and have a 2up seat w/hand rail, mounting hardware.
Lots of people have gotten a springer seat on their Drifters, both 800 and 1500. A Harley K model seat and brackets can be finessed to work (takes some light fabrication), though all the springer seats I've seen need a cover fashioned to cover the battery. As far as I know, there are no bolt on deals that are ready to go. Everything is custom.
There is Singh Saddlerie on facebook. He is selling a bolt on kit at reasonnable price.
I have a Singh seat on my 1500. Only needed to drill two holes to mount it. I understand the 800 is a direct bolt on. Love the seat. I was worried that a seat without padding would literally be a pain in the butt. Not so. The springs absorb the bumps just as well as my stock double seat did.
JMBO , the Singh saddle for the 800 also requires two holes to be drilled . Simple job though for anyone thinking of going sprung seat route .
I put one one mine but I had to do away with the springs and fabricate my own mouting brackets. Bit I love the way it looks and it lowered the seat height about 6 inches, which is perfect for me because im 6'4" and I have long arms.
Now, PERSONALLY, I'd like to see pics of all these springer seats.... all in one place like this.... that would be a big help for the rest of us! ;D

I thought he just did the seat. I didn't realize that he had the mounts too. That's cool!
For all those looking for a solo sprung seat , Singh just messaged me and is back doing his leather work after 8 weeks of therapy and rest . He suggested I handle his dealings here in the states so if you need something please pm me .

Wow... Singh's work is fantastic. Been chatting with him on FB for a bit, dude has skills. Hoping I can score one of his seats this year for sure!

That is a good thought for my future (much) 800 project, though. I need to get the Corbin solo that I bought on there fist, though, to see how I like that!

The last thing I needed to do was fab a spacer shield to fill the gap between the seat and tank. Done! Banged it out the afternoon and powder coated it.

Jake, how about a pic of your seat mounted that way? My Singh seat is mounted on the springs and I'd like to see the difference.

JMBO: If I'm not mistaken, in a previous pic the front seat mount was bolted to the bolt where you just bolted that new cover (which looks good, BTW). Where did you mount the seat?
GB if I'm not mistaken the seat is bolted to the same point in the front just over the spacer plate . The plate fills the gap to give a smoother flow with out the gap between the seat and tank .

Drift! is correct. The front seat mount bolts through the spacer and into the rear tank hold down. I love the seat. The two up seat had me sitting forward too far. With this seat I am sitting a few inches further back and I can stretch my legs. Comfort wise it is basically the same as the stock seat. Now I just have to make the seat rail.
