Monday, I spent 5 hours chipping ice. It was 55 deg. and the sun was out. Tuesday, it rained and it was 45. We had some decent melting going on. Wednesday it was 25 and it snowed again...then went down to 10 over night. Today it's 45, and I got the bikes out into the driveway for some sunshine...The alley to the road, and the road itself are still covered with 5-6" of rutted ice, but it IS getting better...I know, no pics and it didn't happen...well it did happen and I have proof!
Troll it hit 60* here yesterday , rained last night and woke up to 20* this morning with 60 mph winds . What is going on with this weather ? Unfortunately for me , the bike is still snowed in and next week the forcast isn't looking much better :-[ .......
Troll the good news is it is only going to have to melt about 80" deep snow before I can get out of the house......so by June we will be outside
Looking good Troll, hang in there buddy...won't be long now.

Looks good! I'll make sure i ride an extra mile or two for you frozen folks.. Supposed to be 65 and sunny here tomorrow = BIKE TIME!!!!!!! (yes, i have to rub it in.. cause soon it's gonna be terribly hot/humid.. lol.. (doesn't mean she's getting parked tho)
In all seriousness.. I feel for you folks up north.. this winter has been INSANE. Hope all of you are doing well and surviving.
Ya know, it's really not been that out of the ordinary this year, except for a few record low temps (-25 to-30) and a record number of days below zero. Back in '79, we set a record for the most consecutive days with a high temp below zero...we didn't brake that one, we only had 33 days like that. The snow levels have been a little lower than usual, but that still doesn't mean it doesn't suck...It's been the rest of the country that's been getting OUR kind of Winter weather, and they can't handle it!...
Actually it has been a mild winter here, we got hammered early in Nov and then in Dec with record lows in the double digits and - numbers far sooner then normal. But in Feb we were missed the normal 2 weeks of -40* weather we have gotten for the past 15 years I know of. But Mar 1st came in nice and sunny and clear, so now we are going to pay for it, forecast for the weekend is about 6" of wet heavy snow. But we all know that once it starts to turn warm it will come fast and with a vengeance. Then riding time........
This has been our worst winter in about 15 years. BUT... earlier in the week it was 75, been in the 50's (which is about normal). I got a lot of work done in the garage and outside, got some new patio furniture, etc. Lots of sunshine today as well. Will be taking the camper out in a couple of weeks and some fishing. I love Tennessee!!!
I do feel for you guys. Hope you're all coming out of such a lousy winter ok.
44 Chicago winters were quite enough for me, thanks.
I may not like Denver very much, but once you live where there's no winter, it's hard to go back!
This has been the second coldest winter in recorded history in my area... and the most snow we've gotten in 20 years too. Sigh. That said, it's been above freezing during the day for about five days now here... so my driveway's almost clear of snow. Well only because I pushed a good 1/2 ton of it off with my truck when it was melting and slushy. But whatever. I'll be on the road regularly within a month, hopefully the first ride of the year will be in a week or two :)
