I got several different kinds of coffee, a gift card from the Kawasaki dealer and 6" of snow. I just got done cleaning it up, and it started again...and they are saying -1F over night. One good thing...I don't live in Ashland. They got 3' over night!

I got my Christmas gift a little early... Middle of November... A set of Shinko (Formally Yokohama) White walls... From Motorcycle Superstore via Amazon, The price of both tires ($183.00) plus taking them to the local Kawi dealer for mounting ($50.00) was just about what I had been paying (From the Shop w/mounting) for just the rear tire. My last pair of Dunlop Cruisemax lasted approx 10,000 mi. It'll be another year till I find out what kinda' mileage I get from these... The handling so far (after 250 mi) has been better than expected in the corners, Even felt good in light snow and rain. Just a note... Make sure the kid at the Dealership knows the rotor is on the left (Took the rims in off the bike) Valuable information to make sure the rotation of the newly mounted tire is right... Talk about a weird feeling when the rotation is backward... Big difference once they remounted it with about a thousand apologies and a couple free filters.

Hey Bake, are there pics of your bike on here showing the two-tone scheme?  I'd like to see a good pic showing the lines on the tank and the fenders....

I am starting to get cc envy, everyone getting new bikes and stuff for xmas......ok so what did I get.......
about the 22nd of Dec we got the word that sister's liver cancer is in a holding pattern and she is to go back to as normal a life as she can get back to, her back is 99% healed and now with a titanium rod in her spine she can carry my work for me....the meds she is on have her retaining a lot of fluids, she has gained50 lbs in a month but the Drs. are happy with that ...ok....she used to be 110lbs on a bad day of over eating...... that was the one gift we needed at this time.
Got some books, t shirts, and oh yes something that you can not get in Canada, Scrub daddy supposed to be awesome on white wall tires.
Bike related my sister has paid for my seat to be redone so guess she still likes me....lol......
The Kingston area was hit this past week with a wicked ice storm, and so we had interrupted power for the last couple of days, all was fine. So some pics of that to,
But about 8 months ago my sister had made a mention of it would be nice if Santa would be here Christmas morning for her 5 grandkids.......well kids showed up late, but she was surprised at breakfast.......

Bake,
Thanks for the heads up on Shinkos!!
I'm getting ready for new rubber myself and after the new clothes and paint, another $400 is a little less than optimal.

OK, so far D1 has the best Christmas present!  Congrats my man!  You have to do a side by side road comparison in the spring!

Only thing I got for Nadine was the promise of some parts when the budget recovers from Christmas.  She needs new tires and some yearly maintenance.

Glad to hear your Sis enjoyed you being around.  The ice pics are pretty, but I know that ice stuff is destructive - hope it didn't tear up too much.

And that Santa Guy?  I didn't know Santa had so many TATTOOS!!

I got an Ipod shuffle so I can listen to music while I'm riding. Other than that the normal good stuff...lounge britches, overalls, shirt...etc.

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas.

Bake, have you had those tires on before?  I'm interested in 1) ride quality and 2) mileage.   Vs. something more expensive like Contis or Metz??

Greenbarn... I've had Dunlop Cruisemax WW's for the last two tire changes... Both times logging at least 9,000 mi. I've only logged about 500 mi. on the Shinko's but so far I like the handling... Bear in mind everyone's riding style is different, I'm not aggressive in the corners and ride solo, Carrying extra weight as well as tire inflation affect the wear. All in all I'm very pleased with them, They even feel good in wet condition, So far I feel they're great for the money... I'll post more about them after I get some serious miles on them.
