My favorite factory color for the Drifter was the Gooseberry on the blacked out 99 model, but now I'm thinking I prefer the 2-tone Ebony/Ox Blood Red....
I think when I get the cash for my new (to me) 1500 I might have to go for a 2002-2003 in that color.
What are other peoples favorite factory color?
my favorites are as follows
for the 800 either a solid red or black.
theme look would be Army green and that theme.......
for the 1500
the Gooseberry then the oxblood red and Ivory....
that is my vote.....
'01 was the one and only year for that color combination. I kinda like it.....
Vent I'm not positive if this is a factory color , but 3yrs ago I missed out on buying an 800 ( black version ) that was baby blue in color and looked amazing with all the upgrades that were added . Honestly I'm a fan of all colors I guess ,as long as the mods coincide . I'm a big fan of the gooseberry and will hunt one down when the funds are available , of course .

There's a guy a couple states over that's had one for sale for a while on Craigslist. Very tempting, but I just can't spring for another bike now. That powder blue color with everything else blacked out is just a knock out.
DC can you post that listing ?

The powder blue was factory on the 2000 800's. SHARP with the black forks, IMO
This list shows pics of all the different factory paint jobs.

I think the most rare, from what I've seen, is the 2000 1500 Turquois. I've only seen 1 for sale, the other day, I think in FLA. But, you know, it seems to go in waves. For a while I saw a bunch of gooseberry's for sale, and haven't seen one for a while now...
I've come to the conclusion that I'll have to paint mine one day. I thought of a 2 tone, black with antique light yellow inserts, or maybe antique seafoam green inserts. Turquoise is also high on the list. If I were doing a red and black combo, I'd flip the colors from stock and have a metallic maroon bike with black inserts, just to set it apart.
That powder blue really is something else, gotta say.
I'm with ya, though. I'll be putting together a separate set of clothes for my oxblood / ivory.
Not that I don't like it, I just can never make up my mind.

Let me see if it's still up. It keeps expiring, and he keeps relisting it. . . . . . ..
Okay, here it is. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/mcy/4112722011.html (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/mcy/4112722011.html)
There is also a powder blue 800 on fleaBay at the moment.
22,000 miles, $3K, looks very sharp with the 2 up seat and black hand rail.
Wish I could swing another bike!
DC that's nice ! The one I missed out on had the Indian emblem " Black " on the tank with a black Indian head on the front fender and solo seat . Man it was dressed out beautifully !
