Title: Seating question
Post by: Bigdog518 on June 14, 2009, 15:25:30 PM
Now that I have my new Drifter 800 with a single seat, I have a need for a spot to seat my wife or daughter while i'm getting a ride in. My question is this, is the 1500 seat and the 800 seat the same basic seat? I see a lot of 1500 seats on the internet and a precious few 800's. I see a very nice Corbin 2 up on ebay but the seller says it is off a 1500. Can I use this seat?

1500 seats and 800 seats are different animals I'm afraid.  Sorry.......

Yeah, keep your eyes open for some 800 2-ups. Also, Corbin still makes a two-up for the 800.

Cheers.

Hi, Im new to the site and wondering if anyone can help me with a seating problem. I own a 1999 drifter 1500 and am disatified with the solo seat, it looks beautiful but too high for me. Does anyone have any recomendations on where i can have a solo seat made with less padding. The proiblem is i feel i am sitting on the bike rather than in it.

Since the 99 didn't come with a solo saddle, someone added one later. It might help if you told us which solo you have.

You can go onto the website and have a look at the seat gallery/database we have there. That would give you an idea of some of the options.

tpace, the corbin seats have a lower profile, so that would get you down in there.  The foam they use is more dense though, so they aren't as "cushy".

Just be sitting down when you call them.  They make great products, but judging by the price, they're pretty proud of them!
