Hi I have a 2001 1500 drifter and past owner took off windshield and installed a fairing on the windshield bracket. It's the original windshield bracket . Anyone tell me which windshield to buy ? I think it's this one

Something here might help...

That Ebay one probably will not work with Fire and Steel brackets, assuming that's what you have. Of course, you'll need all the correct bracketry that goes on the windshield, and then for the shield, try this: http://www.ceebaileys.com/kawasaki/drifterws.html
I have a question, how do we know what type of windscreen we (I) have, I have looked all over the plastic, the metal and see nothing with a manufacturer name, or with a brand name. So how would I find out?
The local dealer has a couple of wind screens in their back room and I am thinking of getting them and bring them home for a day and see if they would fit. Then if the price is right I might be tempted to buy one.

The ebay ad says you need the kit JE to mount this screen. That's a national cycle number. These kits are like $100 or more. I have the important parts, the pieces that go on the upper fork tubes, and I'll sell them to you for $25 plus shipping. You will need bolts and spacers, but the chrome parts are the big deal. Let me know. I had a N=C windshield on mine for a couple of years before I got a F&S one.

that works, but it's the heard way...What kind of upper stabilizer does it have. I saw so many different kinds of windshield mounts at Drift-In, and no 2 were the same...

ok trying again anyone know what this windshield bracket is ? I want to buy a windshield for it and remove the fairing
Looks like the Fire and Steel windshield bracket that came with the OEM Drifter windshields.
The windshield I bought that had that mounting hardware included with it was: Kawasaki OEM Windshield VN800 VN1500 Drifter K46001-038. It was made by National Windshield for Kawasaki.
You could call National Cycles and they could tell you what windshield will fit that hardware.
Hope this helps you.
Rifle makes a nice windshield that will fit that bracket but their windshields will interfere with your driving lights if you have them, Rifle does also make a kit that will relocate your driving lights so their windshield will fit correctly.

Lightbar adapter kit:

If you decide to go this route you may want to call Rifle and ask if you need the adapter.
I have a Fire and Steel frame on my 1500. I replaced the shield this spring from these guys:

They offer several different options for the Drifter. Nice quality.
For shipping plus a few bucks I'll send you this. It's missing one bracket but that should be easily fabricated.
